There is still a ways to go until we get to see you in person, but mark your calendars! We’ll be waiting for you in our summer home in the parking area and field adjacent to the Elkins Library come that first Wednesday in June.

The Spring Equinox is only a few days away, and WHAT is it doing outside?? Well, a blizzardy day is the perfect time to curl up with the seed catalogs and plan the garden that is yet to come!
The Board of the Canterbury Farmers Market is already planting the ideas that will grow to be the 2017 season. Our most important seeds are YOU, our members, supporters, and shoppers.
First let us say “Thank you!” to all our members for your support last year! To all of our new and renewing members, please know that your $25 membership dues helps to support the Canterbury Community Farmers Market mission to promote community, local food and agricultural products through regular dynamic farmers markets.
Did you know that Market memberships represent 50% of our basic operating budget each year? Stall fees from our vendors and additional music sponsorships make up the rest of our income. That’s one reason why your membership is so important to us!
We’d love to see you in person, so please look for our table at Town Meeting, this Friday night, March 17. You will be able to renew your membership or become a NEW member, ask questions, or just say hello and receive a free apple!

CCFMA Annual Meeting and Potluck Supper, Tues., Jan. 31, 6pm, Parish House in Canterbury center. All members are invited! Bring a dish to share, plus a plate and cutlery. (Be assured you are still welcome even if it’s been a busy day and you show up without either :~)
2017 Vendor Application is now posted! Interested in joining the Market as a new vendor? Click on the “Our Vendors / Become a 2017 Vendor” tab. Returning vendors can just (click here) for the application.
After the business side of the meeting is attended to, we will move on to the delicious potluck portion of the evening! We ask that all the members who attend bring a dish to share, as well as a dish to eat off of and silverware. We are trying to cut down on the washing up after the event, and none of us liked the idea of using, and then disposing of, paper or plastic place settings. Please note: if you have had a crazy day and can’t get a dish made, or get halfway to the meeting and have forgotten your cutlery, don’t panic! There is always enough food to share and the Parish House has dishes that can be used in a pinch. Please come along and you will be made welcome!
Because some of us are still suffering from post-holiday overload, here is a quick summary of this event:
RSVPs are not necessary — the Board of Directors will be there, the food will be there, the fun will be there, and we will just expect that YOU will be there, too!

Have you missed us? Well, we have certainly missed YOU and the sunny Wednesday afternoons in the center! However, we are happy to say that you can find us INDOORS on Sat., Nov. 12 at the Canterbury Elementary School gym, 15 Baptist Road, Canterbury. Click our “Hours and Directions” tab to see how to find us. **Please note that Market hours for the Saturday indoor Market are 10am-1pm.**
You will find many of your favorite summer vendors, plus a few new faces who will join us for the indoor markets. Here is the complete list:
There will be a greater that usual number of locally made crafts at the indoor markets because we know that in addition to good food, our friends are also looking for edible, wearable, and decorative gifts for the upcoming holiday seasons.
We will be offering ready to eat food and a certain amount of café seating. Plan to come, shop, nosh, and visit!
We will be collecting for Mary Ellen’s Basket, the charitable giving program of the Market. Shoppers can show their support by donations of either cash, tokens, or Market goods. The basket will be shared with a Canterbury family who could use some extra help this season.
Remember that you can use our EBT/credit/debit machine to get tokens to use at any of our vendors and at either of the indoor Markets. If you are a SNAP recipient, we are still offering our $20 match for the first $20 of your SNAP benefit used. Ask at the Market Info table.
Plan ahead: We have a second indoor Market scheduled for Saturday, December 10. Also at the CES gym, and also from 10am-1pm. Hope to see you at one or both markets!
